This year, the Basic Medical Sciences faculty (BMS) launched its new bachelor’s degree program in clinical laboratory sciences, which provides students with a strong foundation in medical sciences and provides them with training opportunities in laboratory, medical research and management over four years of study, including an intensive internship at faculty and hospital laboratories.
The faculty also adopts the equation system, and the faculty’s equation committee studies the supporting documents of the equation student, and examines each case individually.
Through the laboratory medicine program, the faculty ensures the provision of innovative approaches that respond to the needs of the profession and qualify graduates specialized in medical laboratories, who are able to engage in the fields of health care with high possibilities of theoretical knowledge and technical skills to contribute to the provision of a high quality diagnostic service through their ability to link the relationships between laboratory data, health and pathological variables, and to qualify them to work in complexes, medical laboratories, hospitals, pharmaceutical and food factories, in addition to job opportunities in the areas of biotechnical, medical research centers, and product development areas.
This program is designed in accordance with national and international accreditation requirements such as accreditation of the British Biomedical Institute and the American Society of Clinical Diseases, allowing graduates to obtain professional fellowships for micro disciplines such as the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathology and the American Society of Diseases.
